Two views, two populations

The period in which an invoice belongs and the period in which money is collected are different concepts. Do not label current-month invoice-cohort figures as a complete cash-movement report.

Two views, two populations
ViewWhat it coversHow to read it
Receivables FlowBilled, collected, and open for the current-month invoice cohort.Use it to understand the invoices in that cohort, not all collections received this month.
Overdue PressureAll currently open receivables.Keep the broader open-receivables population in mind when reviewing overdue context.

Move from a headline to a specific question

  1. Name the review question and the relevant company.
  2. Check which population the view covers before interpreting an amount.
  3. Use the invoice-register filters to inspect the relevant invoices.
  4. Write down unresolved items and the evidence needed for the next review.

A review aid, not a prediction

Receivables Flow is not a cash forecast. Overdue Pressure is not a credit score, and neither view guarantees a collection outcome. Review the underlying question rather than turning an overdue amount into a prediction about when it will be paid.
